How We Can Help You

Vera + Skiscim provides tailored legal representation to companies and individuals across numerous areas of the law, including the following:

A judgment by a trial court does not necessarily resolve a pending case, there is also the potential for an appeal.  But we can assist you with all your appellate matters in both state and federal courts, and also help ensure potential issues for appeal are preserved during the earlier stages of your case.

We have been representing homeowners and condominium associations since our founding, and we offer community associations a variety of legal services from collections to litigation representation.  We can assist associations and boards of directors comply with state and local law as well as their governing documents to ensure proper operation of the organization.

Contractors who perform necessary repairs to property following a loss deserve to be fully and fairly compensated for the work performed.  Unfortunately, insurance companies don’t always pay a contractor’s invoice, or may refuse to issue full payment for the work completed.  We represent contractors in claim disputes, such as for water extraction and restoration, pack out, mold contamination, and construction/build-out.

We can help you manage your company by assisting your board of directors navigate the many corporate governance matters that it may face, such as statutory board requirements, structure and member eligibility, ethics codes, compensation, audits, and member liability.

Experiencing damage to your home or property can be a stressful and confusing experience, which is often further complicated if your insurance company unreasonably refuses to provide enough money for you to make repairs to your home.  We help property owners enforce their rights against insurance companies who wrongfully refuse to issue payments for damages suffered to property. Our goal is to ensure that you are properly compensated for damage or loss suffered as a result of hurricane/windstorms, water damage, roof leaks, fire, flood, hail, tornado, sinkholes, structural collapse, and theft/vandalism, and we will aggressively represent your interests to help maximize your recovery.

When disputes arise it is essential to know your legal options.  Not all disputes require a lawsuit; some can be solved through simple communication, while others may require a neutral third party, such as an arbitrator or mediator.  Sometimes litigation is your only option.  In such an event, we can assist you in all stages of dispute resolution and litigation, and help you evaluate your claims and the associated risks, as well as develop and implement a strategy to obtain realistic results.

We handle PIP claims and lawsuits on behalf of Florida medical providers who have helped individuals injured during vehicle accidents. We represent medical providers whose bills have been denied or reduced by insurance companies, or are simply unpaid with no explanation, and aim to resolve claims aggressively and swiftly.

Whether you are looking to buy or sell, invest or lease, we can help you with your real estate needs to make the process as easy as possible, and to ensure your legal rights are protected and your real estate transactions are effective.
